Keris 3
KERIS 3. This is an old keris of very good quality, with a dense wos wutah
pamor executed in high contrast material and well preserved kembang kacang,
there is erosion to the ron dha, but remarkably little erosion of the pamor cover.
The blumbangan is boto adeg, and a full length but broad ada ada, which inclines
me to opt for a Banten classification.
The wrongko is an old Central Javanese style of well patterned timoho wood, and
is fitted with an old mamas pendok engraved with a floral motif.
The jejeran is an old, well carved, Surakarta yudowinatan, and it is fitted with a
an old Surakarta parijoto pattern silvered mendak.
This is a good example of an old keris in an overall good state of preservation that
displays well executed pamor in high contrast material, something of a rareity in
older keris.
