ITEM 4 This is an excellent example of the weapon of the Javanese village
dweller, a pedang luwuk.
The blade is of considerable age and displays the clear evidence of village
forge work, there is a double pamor wulan motif.
The scabbard has been carved without a joint, and with only an inset in its
end, the hilt has been carved en suite with the scabbard to achieve a neat fit.
It would be very difficult to find a better example of this type of pedang than
the one offered here.
